Thomson stars as Dumbarton crush Raith
Robert Thomson scored a first-half brace as Dumbarton secured an impressive 4-0 victory over Raith in the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship.
The Sons got off to the perfect start as Thomson added the finishing touch in the sixth minute following a good run and cross by Calum Gallagher.
Dumbarton goalkeeper Alan Martin produced a fine double save to deny Jean-Yves M'voto in the 25th minute, and they doubled their advantage just before the interval thanks to another fine finish from the 23-year-old forward.
Thomson was also involved in the third, which was bundled home by Sam Stanton early in the second half, and they added a fourth through Garry Fleming in added time.
