The points were shared in a drab encounter, a result which at last ended Dumbarton's run of home defeats but did Albion no favours as they dropped from the top of the table.
The Sons introduced new loan-signing Chris McGroarty to a line-up showing several changes from last week's reversal at Alloa. Stirling were without top scorer Scott Mclean - who had undone Dumbarton the last time the clubs met - and experienced defender Mark McNally.
McGroarty and the Binos' Stewart Devine both saw early shots from distance fly over the target, but the first time either keeper was tested it resulted in a goal.
Andy Rodgers sent over a cross from the left which picked out the unmarked Eddie Annand, and although Myles Hogarth did well to keep his close-range header out Iain Russell pounced to drive home the loose ball from a couple of yards.
Two minutes later it should have been two-nil to the Sons. Annand this time sent Rodgers clear but his low shot cannoned clear off the base of Hogarth's left-hand upright.
Albion hadn't managed a shot on target during the opening half, but within a minute of the restart they drew level courtesy of a real clanger by Annand.
The big striker needlessly tried to pass the ball back to his 'keeper through a packed defence and only succeeded in finding Stirling's Martin Glancy in acres of space, and he calmly rounded Stephen Grindlay before firing into the empty net.
Annand almost made amends on the hour mark when Russell fired over a fierce, low, cross but with the goal gaping Annand - at full stretch - just failed to get that vital touch.
