Raith back to winning ways with Dumbarton win

Raith ended a run of three games without a win with a 3-2 victory over 10-man Dumbarton at Stark's Park.

Rudi Skacel saw an early effort saved by Alan Martin before the hosts took a deserved lead in the 15th minute when Kevin McHattie found himself in space down the left and finished coolly into the far corner.

They doubled the lead after 34 minutes when Ross Callachan shot took a deflection to wrongfoot Martin and went in off the post, and just a minute later it was three as Scott Roberts' effort from distance also crashed in off the frame of the goal.

Dumbarton gave themselves hope with 19 minutes to go when Ryan Stevenson's long-range effort flew in and they reduced the lead to one six minutes later, Robert Thomson firing home after Raith failed to deal with a dangerous ball into the box.

The Sons' task was made more difficult with two minutes remaining with Gregor Buchanan dismissed for a second booking.
